Trajano Viana holds a PhD in Engineering for Photovoltaic Solar Systems from UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina), has been a Professor of Electrical Engineering (1987-2014), a 5-time Visiting Professor at Munich's University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule, 1989-2000), and a researcher at the UFSC Photovoltaic Laboratory (2005-2012). In 2007, he was at Conergy AG in Hamburg, Germany, developing a project to analyse interactions between thin film modules and photovoltaic inverters. Since 2008, he has been lecturing and teaching workshops at home and abroad on photovoltaic energy at CBENS (Florianópolis and SP), ecoenergy (SP), INTERSOLAR (SP), CYTED (Bolivia) and ENUMA (Peru). He has taught dozens of theoretical and practical training courses on photovoltaic energy for companies and institutions such as CEMIG (Belo Horizonte and Sete Lagoas), COELBA (Salvador), LIGHT, EPE, ELETROBRÁS (Rio de Janeiro), IDEAAS (Florianópolis), RIMA (Montes Claros), B&Q ENERGIA (Fortaleza), TECNIWER (Jaraguá do Sul), SENAI (Jaraguá do Sul), ERZEG (Schröder, SC), SUNEDISON (Assu, RN), the Navy Arsenal (AMRJ, Rio de Janeiro), and at other events in Recife, Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Maringá, Chapecó, Florianópolis and Porto Alegre. He has been active on several consulting jobs and projects, in addition to teaching dozens of training courses on photovoltaic energy. He is a Silver Member of ISES (International Solar Energy Society) and a member of ABNT's Commission for the Study of Solar Photovoltaic Energy Conversion Systems.
