Intersolar Brasil Nordeste

The leading platform shaping the future of energy

In 2026, Intersolar Brasil Nordeste will celebrate its sixth edition in Fortaleza, reflecting the region’s prominent role in solar and wind energy, and, following these, as an emerging hub for green hydrogen. Unique solar and wind conditions, extensive port and industrial infrastructure such as the Pecém Complex, and a strategic geographic location with easy access to North America and Europe explain the attraction of significant investments in the sector.

The Northeast is home to six of the ten largest solar energy producers in Brazil, accounting for 52% of the country’s installed capacity. Furthermore, around 65% of ongoing construction contracts and approved expansion projects are also located in this region. Bahia, Pernambuco, and Ceará rank among the 11 largest states in distributed generation, totaling 5.3 GW installed –representing 21% of the national capacity.
Another highlight is the advanced projects for green hydrogen (H2V) production and its derivatives, which already have signed contracts. Ceará leads the country in the number of such agreements, driven by the planned construction of a dedicated terminal for product export, expected to begin in 2026. The project will integrate a shared infrastructure at the Pecém Complex, further strengthening the state’s position as a potential national hub for H2V.

For investors, the Northeast offers a favorable environment, with initiatives aligned with the missions of the Nova Indústria Brasil (NIB) and a public call that exceeded expectations by nearly 13 times the initially forecasted value, gathering projects focused on energy transition, the bioeconomy, and green data centers, among others.

In the context of the energy transition, the event plays a key role in anticipating, on a regional scale, the discussion of topics that will be further expanded at Intersolar South America 2026, taking place in August in São Paulo.

In light of the prospect of profound transformations in the Brazilian power system, both in the regulatory and technological spheres, topics such as the impact of the full liberalization of the energy market on the solar industry; solutions to overcome curtailment in large-scale solar plants; energy storage and grid-forming inverters; distributed generation systems with high renewable penetration; and energy infrastructure for data centers are expected to be part of the conference program.

In summary, Intersolar Brasil Nordeste, as part of the conferences and industrial exhibitions brought together under The smarter E South America, is establishing itself as a platform for discussing strategic topics that are shaping the future of energy in Brazil.
