Fortaleza, April 29, 2026: Intersolar Brasil Nordeste 2026 concluded its sixth edition this Wednesday, April 29, at the Centro de Eventos do Ceará, further confirming the event’s standing as one of the leading gatherings in the renewable energy industry in Brazil.
Over two days, the event brought together more than 5,000 people, a clear indication of its role as a platform for strategic discussions, business generation and professional development. The second day’s main highlight was the panel on data centres in the Northeast Region, alongside discussions on technology and the market within a context of transformation and electrical security.
In practice, this means clean energy going unused as a result of transmission bottlenecks, which underscores the need for investment in infrastructure, storage, and new consumption models. The Secretary of Economic Development of Ceará, Fabio Feijó, highlighted the transformation of energy into economic value. “When Ceará invests in data centres, we are transforming solar and wind energy into high added value.”
With 16 submarine cables, in addition to a new one being deployed with low latency and significant energy potential, Ceará has the conditions to lead the way. The secretary also noted that the state has 643 GW of solar potential, 94 GW of onshore wind, 117 GW of offshore wind, and 137 GW of hybrid power, forming a strategic base to support large digital infrastructures with clean energy.
According to Feijó, this dynamic drives solutions in artificial intelligence and technology. The secretary also stressed that coordination between the public sector, companies and academia is essential to transform potential into tangible results for the population. The growth of generative artificial intelligence was identified as a driver of exponential growth for data demand. The world’s installed capacity of data centres already exceeds 120 GW. In Brazil, this industry is expanding, with more than 600 MW. By 2031, it could attract up to R$ 92 billion in investments.
Participants also stressed that data centres function as catalysts for digital ecosystems. “A data centre alone is useless. It needs to be part of a robust ecosystem,” said Tito Costa, revenue director at Tecto Data Centers. The interdependence between energy and technology was reinforced by Jurandir Picanço, energy consultant at FIEC. With 60 years of experience in the industry, Picanço was universally celebrated by the speakers at the conference. He emphasised that storage enables the expansion of renewables, while data centres are establishing themselves as major renewable energy consumers, thus shaping a synergistic development cycle. “Solar energy, the focus of the conference, is the fastest-growing energy source in the world,” Picanço stressed. Among the benefits associated with data centres are improved digital infrastructure, reduced latency, faster data access, and support for technologies such as AI, IoT, and big data, with direct impacts on economic productivity.
The trade exhibition brought together more than 60 companies across 7,500 m², with strong networking and technical training. The event reinforces the leading role of the Northeast, accounting for more than half of the country’s solar energy, while also confirming Ceará as a strategic hub of the digital economy and energy transition.
Guilherme Deziatto, Technical Support Coordinator at Livoltek, stated that the event is particularly relevant for manufacturers, noting that the Hexing Group company sees the gathering as a strategic opportunity to directly listen from customers. He added that this engagement enables a better understanding of market feedback, identification of areas for improvement, and continuous adaptation of products and solutions to meet end-customer expectations.
“It’s very positive to participate in Intersolar because, in addition to highly positive networking, you exchange ideas with colleagues, meet new distributors, and engage with people who have greater knowledge and can share information so that our company can improve its services,” says third-time conference delegate Aline Rosa, commercial manager of Engeselt Energia Solar.
