Intersolar Brasil Nordeste 2026: Fortaleza to Host the 6th Edition of One of the Most Significant Events in the Renewable Energy Industry

Press Release – April 22, 2026

Fortaleza, April 22, 2026: The event brings together experts and companies to discuss the future of solar energy, green hydrogen, energy storage, and emerging challenges in the electrical system

On April 28–29, the Ceará Events Center in Fortaleza will host the 6th edition of Intersolar Brasil Nordeste, one of the main events in the renewable energy segment in the region. The event will bring together companies, experts, and executives to explore trends, challenges, and opportunities in Brazil’s energy transition. The programme features complimentary expert-led lectures, executive panels, networking breaks, and an exhibition area, creating a strong setting for knowledge exchange, business generation, and professional development.

The exhibition and conference are expected to attract more than 4,000 visitors, over 60 exhibitors, approximately 350 conference delegates, and more than 30 speakers, within a 7,500 m² venue, positioning the event as one of the key platforms for debate on solar energy and related technologies in the Northeast.

At the end of each day, the event will offer a free lecture for all visitors, which are: At 6pm on April 28, João Cunha will talk about “Professional System for NR-10 Adaptation: Based on International Compliance Methodology,” addressing the rollout of a comprehensive system for adaptation to the NR-10 standard, from diagnosis to audit-ready compliance. At 6pm on 29th, Vinicius Ayrão will talk about “Storage: Applications for Integrators – How to Turn the Game Around Right Now,” focusing on practical solutions for deploying BESS, including retrofitting, increasing self-consumption, and commercial strategies for the industry.

The choice of Fortaleza reflects the region’s leading position in the industry. The Northeast accounts for 52% of Brazil’s installed solar energy capacity and hosts six of the country’s ten largest solar producers. The region also represents approximately 65% of contracts under construction and authorised projects for the expansion of solar generation, highlighting its strategic importance in the Brazilian energy transition. The event will take place at a time when the debate on data centres is gaining prominence on the energy agenda. The expansion of data processing centres is driven by generative AI, video streaming, and the continued growth of digital services. These factors increase computational demand, with a corresponding rise in energy consumption.

Ceará is on course to become a global digital hub with the construction of Brazil’s largest data centre in the Pecém Export Processing Zone (ZPE) in Caucaia. How can technological and digital expansion be ensured on a clean energy basis, without water impacts, while maintaining competitiveness and reliability?

Another highlight is the evolution of green hydrogen (H₂V) projects. Ceará leads the country in the number of agreements signed for fuel production, driven by the planned construction of a terminal dedicated to production outflow in the Pecém Complex, with implementation scheduled to begin in 2026. The state’s port and industrial infrastructure, combined with favourable solar and wind conditions and a strategic location for international routes, has attracted substantial investment in the industry.

This is the context in which Intersolar Brasil Nordeste stands out as a strategic forum for debate on the future of energy. The event is part of The smarter E South America’s series of conferences and trade shows, dedicated to innovation and the development of the energy ecosystem.

During the two-day programme, industry professionals will be able to take part in discussions on topics such as the liberalisation of the energy market, the challenges of large-scale solar generation, energy storage, solutions for energy curtailment, systems with high renewable energy penetration, and energy infrastructure for data centres.

The Intersolar Brasil Nordeste 2026 is Brazil’s key gathering for solar innovation in the Northeast region. Taking place on 28–29 April at the Ceará Events Center in Fortaleza, the event will bring together industry experts and decision-makers to explore key topics such as distributed and centralized generation, battery energy storage systems, green hydrogen, and the carbon credit market.

The conference will also address reverse power flows, the impacts of production curtailment, and the integration of intermittent renewable energy sources. The concurrent exhibition will serve as a marketplace for innovative solutions, facilitating business between suppliers and developers, integrators, and investors in the Brazilian Northeast.

In 2025, the event welcomed more than 5,600 visitors, around 450 conference delegates, and showcased solutions from nearly 100 suppliers, reaffirming the Northeast’s strategic role in Brazil’s energy transition. As part of the global Intersolar series, which is present across four continents, Intersolar Brasil Nordeste strengthens the solar industry in Brazil and internationally while fostering connections, innovation, and sustainable growth.
