Fortaleza, 16 March 2026: The event brings together experts and firms to discuss the future of solar energy, green hydrogen, energy storage, and the emerging challenges facing the power system
Fortaleza is set to host the 6th edition of Intersolar Brasil Nordeste, one of the region’s leading renewable energy gatherings, on 28–29 April 2026 at Centro de Eventos do Ceará. The event will bring together companies, experts, and executives to examine the trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping Brazil’s energy transition. The programme includes expert lectures, executive debates, networking sessions, and company exhibitions, creating a forum for knowledge exchange, business opportunities, and professional development.
The exhibition & conference event is expected to attract more than 4,000 visitors, over 60 exhibiting companies, around 350 conference delegates, and more than 30 speakers across a 7,500 m² venue, reinforcing the event’s position as a leading platform for discussion of solar energy and related technologies in the Brazilian Northeast.
The selection of Fortaleza as the host city underscores the Northeast’s pioneering role in the industry. The Northeast accounts for 52% of Brazil’s installed solar energy capacity and is home to six of the country’s ten largest solar producers. The region also accounts for roughly 65% of solar generation capacity under construction or authorised for expansion, underscoring its strategic importance in Brazil’s energy transition.
The event takes place at a time when data centres are becoming an increasingly prominent topic on the energy agenda. The rapid growth of data processing centres is driven by generative artificial intelligence, video streaming, and the continued expansion of digital services. These elements amplify the computational load, consequently driving up energy consumption.
Ceará is emerging as a global digital hub with the construction of Brazil’s largest data centre in the Pecém Export Processing Zone (ZPE) in Caucaia. The key question is how to ensure that technological and digital expansion is supported by clean energy, without dependence on water resources, while maintaining competitiveness and reliability.
Another focal point is the expansion of green hydrogen (H₂V) projects. Ceará leads the country in the number of agreements signed for fuel production, driven by plans to build a terminal dedicated to exporting output from the Pecém Complex, with construction scheduled to start in 2026. The state’s port and industrial infrastructure, coupled with exceptional solar and wind conditions and a strategic position for international routes, has attracted substantial investment in the renewables industry.
It is within this framework that Intersolar Brasil Nordeste establishes itself as a strategic forum for debating the future of energy. The event is part of The smarter E South America’s series of trade shows and conferences, dedicated to innovation and supporting the energy ecosystem.
Over the two-day programme, industry professionals will have the opportunity to follow discussions on topics including the opening of the energy market, the challenges of large-scale solar generation, energy storage, solutions to mitigate curtailment, power systems with high renewable penetration, and energy infrastructure for data centres.
The Intersolar Brasil Nordeste 2026 is Brazil’s key gathering for solar innovation in the Northeast region. Taking place on 28–29 April at the Ceará Events Center in Fortaleza, the event will bring together industry experts and decision-makers to explore key topics such as distributed and centralized generation, battery energy storage systems, green hydrogen as a new energy frontier, and the expanding carbon credit market.
The conference will also address reverse power flows, the impacts of production curtailment, and the integration of intermittent renewable energy sources. The concurrent exhibition will serve as a marketplace for innovative solutions, facilitating business between suppliers and developers, integrators, and investors in the Brazilian Northeast.
In 2025, the event welcomed more than 5,600 visitors, around 450 conference delegates, and showcased solutions from nearly 100 suppliers, reaffirming the Northeast’s strategic role in Brazil’s energy transition.
As part of the global Intersolar series, which is present across four continents, Intersolar Brasil Nordeste strengthens the solar industry in Brazil and internationally while fostering connections, innovation, and sustainable growth.
